51. I have no idea ahy she left the Party.

I imagine we'll find out soon enough, from the articles and interviews about the book, but I honestly don't care all that much. People are allowed to leave political parties; nobody is required to be a member of either major party.

I know you can't vote in primaries in some states without declaring a party, but that's not true in all of them, including mine. My state doesn't ask you for your party when you register to vote, either; there's not even a space for that on the form.

But all that is beside the point. As far as I'm concerned, Jean-Pierre is a grown ass adult, and she's allowed to decide her political affiliation or lack thereof for herself. I just don't get all the hate I'm seeing here. She hasn't joined the "dark" side or anything like that. She can still vote for Democrats or contribute to their capaigns if she wants to (or not, as the case may be). Let the woman live her life.
