(12,614 posts)17. As best I can remember, the last time POTUS federalized the National Guard to enforce the law
was the Little Rock High integration crises in 1957. That was necessary only because Gov. Faubus had sent in the Arkansas Guard to thwart the enforcement of Brown v. Board. President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas Guard and reversed its mission.

Or they learned the wrong lessons. Wear masks but not uniforms or identifying badges

I think it would be interesting if all the protesters showed up wearing national guard uniforms...

I looked up if the Governors control the National Guard. They can be called by up by the Feds

Per US Government, anything within 100 miles of international border OR shore line is US Border Enforcement Zone
