9. However the first midterms after a Presidential election

tends to bring about the picking up of seats by the "opposite" party from the President.

In 2010 - the first midterm after Obama's election, we were blown away in both Chambers and completely lost the House after finally getting it back in 2006 (a midterm during Shrub's 2nd election), for the first time since getting blown out by the (R)s in 1994 (a Clinton mid term).

In 2014, the first midterm after Obama's 2nd term, we lost the Senate. In 2018, the first midterm after 45's election, Democrats took back the House for the first time in a dozen years with the "blue tsunami". We then had a freak "pickup" in 2020 in the Senate for Biden's election, but then started losing again during the 2022 election (lost the House), and finally got finished off in the Senate during the 2024 election.

So those midterms are important!
