Daniels, 36, is the new senior Washington correspondent for MSNBC, where he is also preparing to take over as a co-host of The Weekend alongside Jonathan Capehart and Jackie Alemany starting Saturday, May 3.

The new role comes at no insignificant time for Daniels, who is also serving as president of the White House Correspondents' Association amid historic tensions involving the Trump administration and the journalists who cover it.
