In reply to the discussion: 'Caught on camera': Senator says 'Pam Bondi knew' about reported 'brazen' bribery scheme [View all]2na fisherman
(97 posts)Amassing a personal fortune by any means necessary is a key reason we see so many sick people enter into positions of authority as a career instead of a desire to offer diligent service to the people of the country. And many of our politicians usually start out by making shady deals with wealthy donors to fund their campaigns. Then, if elected, they make more deals to advance certain corporate interests and get a piece of the action via insider trading and/or further "donations" to some front PAC through which they wash their bribes. And now it's even easier to get their bribes directly paid via crypto. And after they are out of office, many get paid back for favors done while in office by obtaining do-nothing jobs for corporations, think tanks and speaking engagements. The only other scam for gaining such corrupt riches seems to be playing the role of "pastor" in a so-called church which constantly asks for donations for bestowing dubious blessings upon their flock, thereby fleecing them. And as a bonus, all their riches are tax-free.
