Too many stupid things are blowing up in his stupid, piggy face right now and he needs distractions, so he's lobbing ultra high priced weapons at Venezuelan speed boats, threatening everybody but Russia and his good buddy Putin with war, and now going back on something he specifically negotiated away in his first term in order to get us out of Afghanistan after 20 years of deadly futility.

Nobody wants hat base back. Afghanistan will be just as much of a mess for the Chinese as it was for the collective west, Xi's reach is vastly outpacing his grasp. A base there is just not that important, AFAIK, other countries in the region filling the gap because Iran scares the hell out of them. It's why we turned it over to the Taliban in the first place.

So I'm seeing this, the attack on Venezuelan drug courier boats, the sabre rattling at India, and all the other stupidly incoherent rantings that pass for foreign policy these days as just so much hot air, meant to distract people away from what really has his diapers in a wad.
