10. When I was in Navy boot camp in the 70's

one of my instructors told us the story of losing
someone on the flight deck who walked into a propeller by accident. Not crazy, but loud and confusing conditions and he just didn’t see the spinning prop in time.
Later, aboard a flat top myself, stories were told and warnings were issued for flight deck personnel about the dangers of spinning propellers and jet intakes.
I was in the boiler room so heat stroke was what I avoided.
