4. Telluride was mostly a ghost town in the 70s, little souvenir shops. The seed of tourism.

The "outsiders" got to Telluride decades ago, well, the first wave anyhow. The entrepreneurial types brought in the ski resort, the festivals, hang gliding competitions, etc. Mountain Village CO didn't even exist until then and became a town in 96.

Worker shortages are nothing new to CO ski resorts either. So I am scratching my head at why this article implies this something puzzling to people there. I think they call it progress.
