Entering and exiting the terminals - and I haven't flow in about a month now - there are no metal detectors.

If you look at the footage of the Turkey attack - this happened in the terminal area.

A Turkish airport police officer took out one of the bombers. He lost his weapon - but he still blown himself up. If he wasn't taken out by this cop - he could have shot more people before he detonated his vest.

This is the type of attacks we need to be prepared for now - even at U.S. airports. There is no excuse for hiring airport police if they don't have weapons to serve and protect.

Sorry but I don't agree with you.
