4. GOP has shown in the past that when you withhold gov't funds you slow the economy. Not a smooth move.

It wasn't that many years ago that bickering over the budget led to an automatic sequestration of 10% of most government outlays. It wasn't very long before the economy started moving toward a recession. Spending, whether business, personal or government, powers some amount of beneficial economic activity. They will tinker us into the Trump Recession.
