8. Still, people should be cautious about messages from your "bank".

Just before reading this thread, I got a text that said my bank saw something suspicious, froze my card, and gave me a link to click on in order to unfreeze it or validate it or something. I didn’t like the phone number, or the link, so I went to my bank’s app, logged in, and there was no message directly from the bank about anything being wrong. I googled the number and it wasn’t associated with my bank. Moral is: log into or call your bank to verify. This is textbook phishing and I’m not gonna bite.
