I had more than a few arguments with those who insist that masks, school closures,and social distancing were useless.

Eventually it became clear that they were willing to do whatever it takes to prevent the spread of covid, as long as it didn't require them to change their behavior in any way or make any effort or endure the slightest inconvenience.
