I might do some more looking / research before trying one off the bush as I don't want to poison myself by mistake 
But this looks pretty unique so it's probably exactly what it is, and I don't think BC has any really poisonous berries / fruit anyway. Well not wild growing. I know there are a few very poisonous plants but they don't produce fruit for the most part.
