Have you ever made a live topiary? Is chicken wire going to be enough? [View all]
I have a farm plot this year and want to add something fun so I am thinking about doing a two-stage topiary of maybe a dragon -- the head, a hump or two and the tail. I'm going to start it with snow peas on it but then it could be morning glories or something else that is very resilient and grows aggressively. If I can't pull off a topiary I will just go with a simple bamboo arbor.

We have plenty of chicken wire available but it is a pain, literally, to work with. I can bend it up wearing super gloves but my main concern is that the weight of the plants will be too much for it.
Any experiences or thoughts on what else I could use for the frame?
