Not many qualify for this. It takes 90 days of service, with one day in a conflict zone, but there's a means test. It's far more miserly than the means test for VA health benefits.

There's also a survivor pension, described on that same web site.

Local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts may be able to steer you in the right direction to apply for these.
