(6,438 posts)173. Jay's tumor was in his thalamus as previous stated
but grew to brainstem. He was at home as well. Being in the thalamus his speech, breathing, eating, etc... were effected. His uncle and I took care of him for the past year. He also had excellent palliative and hospice team. Like your partner, Jay did here at home with me holding his hand as he took his last breaths.
I helped get him into the body bag and his uncle helped take the body from the hospital bed to the gurney.
