3. The case I'm about to mention isn't as ominous as this scenario, but it's still pretty direct.

A friend of mine used to work at a tile store. Guy comes in to pick up his order after it finally arrived, and instructed my friend to load into his brand-spanking new megapickup. My friend demurred, citing how incredibly heavy a pallet of floor tiles is. Guy insisted, signed a waiver absolving the store, and drove away with his tiles.

A few hours later, he comes back for something, looking kind of ashen. Seems that Onstar ratted him out. He was driving home and the truck told him that he had greatly overloaded the truck, so much so that he had voided the warranty. Unfortunately, this is unlikely to come to light for a subsequent buyer of the truck, especially if this guy keeps it until the wty would have aged out anyway.
