The West has swallowed whole Israel's decades of propaganda, some unwittingly, some not.

As just one example, Israel is not the poor defenceless innocent victim just minding its business and yearning to live in peace, surrounded by nasty, hostile Arabs/Muslim nations. In reality, once you take the hasbara blinkers off, you realize Israel is an agressive, expansionist state that has been terrorizing its neighbours for decades. Invading and starting pre-emptive and now even "preventive" wars, meddling in their internal politics looking for regime change (Syria being the latest) disrespecting their sovereignty, egging on and manipulating the US to start wars, etc - all the while being the only clandestinely permitted nuclear-armed nation in the Middle East, with all the military and strategic, geopolitical advantages that confers. It really is the Goliath pretending to be David and it's way past time to rein it in.

Unless of course we agree with its ambitions and don't mind the methods, and that probability is the incomprehensible and dismaying part to me and has been for many years now.
