For me, this MSN article is a big example of the problem with the media

Swing States: Underwater Across The Board
Every major battleground state shows Trump in negative territory, but not by overwhelming margins.

Arizona (42 percent approve, 53 percent disapprove) and North Carolina (41 to 55 percent) remain relatively tight. Pennsylvania posts 41 to 54 percent, while Wisconsin is close behind at 41 to 55 percent.

**So... -11, -14, -13 are relatively tight. I want to know how this fool defines "relatively"

Michigan (38 to 57 percent) and Nevada (37 to 56 percent) show slightly wider gaps, while Georgia is among the more challenging swing states at 37 to 57 percent.

**Aaaaaand... -19, -20 are slightly wider gaps and/or more challenging.

In other words, Trump is underwater everywhere that will likely decide future elections, but the deficits remain within a range that could shift under the right conditions.

**If these numbers were under a Democratic Administration, my guess is, we'd be told how they were catastrophic, and that the Democrats were in gigantic trouble. As opposed to "remain within a range that could shift under the right conditions."

Cheers to the Vancouver Police Department as they deny FIFA special treatment

How long until Trump starts whining on behalf of his acolyte, servant, sycophant?

https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/48630108/vancouver-police-deny-motorcade-request-fifa-infantino

TORONTO -- A request for FIFA president Gianni Infantino to be given a police escort while in Vancouver, British Columbia, for FIFA meetings has been denied, the Vancouver Police Department confirmed Wednesday.

"Formal motorcades where traffic is stopped are reserved for heads of state," Deputy Chief Don Chapman said in a statement.

"As the FIFA executive do not meet Internationally Protected Person (IPP) standards that would warrant such an escort [closing roads, intersections, not adhering to traffic devices, etc.], the request was declined," Chapman said.

FIFA denies that Trump's buddy Infantino was involved in this.

In spite of Trump's crypto having lost 95% in value since last year, we have a winner

So Cucks for Trump are experiencing difficulty in KY: Ed Gallrein

According to the first poll in House race KY-04, Thomas Massie leads Trump-cuck Ed Ballrei... Gallrein by double digits according to the Lexington Herald Leader reporting a poll by Quantus Insights

47.4% would vote for Massie if the election were held today, compared to 36.8% who responded they’d vote for Ed Gallrein, the Shelby County ball-washer who has touted Trump’s endorsement in his campaign.

*****************
So the guy with the really vocal support of il douche is trailing. Granted 1st independent poll, sample size is under 500. But still. The Trump endorsed candidate, the man who features himself and Trump together with their make america go away... make america great again hats isn't winning by 1000000%?
As to the 36.8%... where'd you go pollster? Was there a Klan rally somewhere? Did the state mental hospital have an outing for their most delusional? A meeting of the "I pay no attention to anything club"?

Congrats to Hannah Spencer and the Green Party on winning the Gorton and Denton byelection

Congrats to Hannah Spencer on her and the Green Party's victory. The turnout was 47.6% which according to the Guardian there was a 46.8% turnout in 2024 general election
Spencer received 14,980 votes which is 40.69% of the vote
Reform's Matt Goodwin received 10,578 votes 28.73%
Labour's Angeliki Stogia got 9,364 votes 25.44%
So, Hannah Spencer won rather large. All talk of a possible 10, or 100 vote difference dissipated into the void of a 12% margin over Goodwin and 15% over Stogia
I don't live in the UK, much less Manchester, though our oldest attends university in London. So, I take an interest in UK politics, etc

My personal take a ways from the election
1. Labour should have run Andy Burnham. I think had all the Mandelson and Mc Sweeney sackings and such occurred a week earlier Labour would have done better. I don't like Starmer, I find him disappointing, but he seemed to have begun to regain his footing, talk of people running for PM seems to have had died a bit. I think Labour probably would have been more confident in having Burnham run.

2. I don't think Stogia ran a bad campaign. But, short of Burnham, they were likely going to lose. My understanding is, there was a lot of hostility toward Labour not letting Burnham stand and other issues not related to Stogia. She was going to lose.

3. That Reform had Goodwin run was weird for most people, typical for Reform. The area has large pockets of progressive voters and Muslims, and Reform ran a guy who talked of ending call to prayer and that young women needed to be educated on their "biological clocks' was weird. Then again, maybe, for Reform, that is quite progressive.

4. The Tory party finished 4th. Not a respectable 4th mind you, but just 4th. They garnered 706 votes. Yep, couldn't even make 1000 votes (36,814 people voted). Though they did finish 4th, rather than the 5th spot last time. 706 votes is 1.92% of the vote. So yeah.

5. Oh... and the Conservatives have to return their deposit for finishing under 2%

6. The biggest winner after Spencer... Comedy. And lord is there some goodins
- Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch (God that name is such a close spelling to Badenov... as in Boris Badenov) blasted Labour's performance in Gorton and Denton and claimed that the election showed Conservatives were best to lead Britain.
So yeah. The party that finished 4th with less than 2% of the vote are the real party that should be leading Britain. Yeah. And, as to that 4th place finish, in the last election where they finished 5th, 4th place went to the WPB which did not field a candidate. So 5th place was a real possibility.

-Also (in comedy) Sir Oinks-a-Lot of the Loony Party captured 6th place, 159 votes and 0.43% of the vote. The funny part? He's within 547 votes of the conservatives -- the Party Badenoch claims is poised to lead Britain. They beat the Loony Party by less than 1.5%.
Great night for the conservatives on their long slog back to relevance.
Congrats Oinksy -- Note... many, if not most, Loony Party members are rightwing cranks

America's 3 Main Political Parties and a Brief way to recognize each

1. The Democratic Party: Characterized by a variety of individuals who generally lean center, center-left and then move more leftward. Sometimes seen arguing and fighting with one another.

2. Republican Party: See Thomas Massey. In DC he really is a party of one (okay Marjory Taylor Green and Lawler maybe). Characterized by, "I hate their politics, but at least they aren't giving quarter on Trump's Epstein ties

3. Repedokan Party: Characterized by individuals who spend all their times sucking up to, defending, and making excuses for King Repedokan Donald J Trump. So compromised are they that their talking heads know say Epstein wasn't so bad. (see Jesse Watters and Megan Kelly). And in some cases are willing to gladly visit him (see U.S. Men's Hockey Team) yuck it up and party with him.
